Around 21 Dale End

The house is a two minute walk from the very useful Burnham Deepdale Tourist Information Office, garage, Deepdale Café (brilliant breakfasts!) and the NISA general store. In the opposite direction, you’ll find the Post Office and the Fish Shed, famous for its wonderful selection of fresh fish and now also selling bread, fresh produce and groceries. One of Britain’s most commended gastropubs, The White Horse, is across the road from Dale End and the much loved Jolly Sailors hostelry is a five minute stroll towards the harbour. Brancaster Staithe also boasts tennis courts and a recreation ground.

From the house, a short step brings you to the tidal marshes where you can walk for miles on the Coastal Path. The beach at Brancaster (less than 2 miles away) is unsurpassed, but a few more minutes in the car will bring you to Thornham and Holme-Next-The-Sea in one direction, or glorious Holkham, Blakeney and Cley marshes if you head East. From Burnham Overy Staithe take a ferry to the island beaches of Scolt Head.

Sailing can be enjoyed from Brancaster Staithe, golf at the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club in Brancaster and also in Hunstanton, and the area is famous for birdwatching (RSPB Titchwell Reserve is 3 miles away). The fascinating tidal marshes can be explored on foot or by dinghy. Seal and birdwatching trips leave from Morston Quay and Blakeney – and if you’re in Blakeney at high tide, grab a line and join the enthusiastic crabbers along the harbour’s edge.

Three miles away from Brancaster Staithe is the lovely Georgian village of Burnham Market – shop here not only for your everyday needs, but also for the height of fashion at Anna and Collen & Clare, hats in their hundreds at Pentney House and delectable dishes at one of the many restaurants, cafés and delis.

Further afield, Royal Sandringham House and Park, Holkham Hall and Houghton Hall are all within easy reach.

Our nearest railway station is King’s Lynn and the house is a minute from the Coasthopper bus service stop.
