The Hollies, Uppingham

"Sublime. Like coming home . . ."

Your bed - and breakfast:

Your bedroom will be on the second, completely private, floor of our Victorian townhouse. The main bedroom is very large and airy with views over the rooftops to the countryside. It has a king size bed with top of the range mattress. Next door is its own spacious shower room, with a "rain" showerhead. Also on this floor is a pretty double bedroom, with lovely views over the garden. This will ONLY be let if you are travelling with children or friends and wish to share the shower room. Rest assured, you will NEVER share the facilities with strangers and your floor is totally private. You will need to be able to climb two flights of stairs to reach it though!

We also provide:

  • A choice of top quality feather/down or non-allergenic duvet and pillows
  • Memory foam or contoured neck support pillow on request
  • Radio/Alarm
  • Hairdryer
  • Best quality bathroom and shower products
  • A TV in your room (on request)

In the morning, enjoy a cooked English breakfast, an American style option of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, or continental style pastries. This is in addition to fresh juices, home made granola, compotes and Greek yoghurt, with bread from Baines, our excellent local baker. There are tea and coffee making facilities in your room (with fresh milk!) but you are most welcome to help yourself to those in our kitchen too.

We hope you'll feel at home enough to join us for a chat in the kitchen, or curl up by the fire with a book in our lovely sitting room. And of course our pretty courtyard garden is always at your disposal - hopefully for sunny breakfasts! - or to enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine.

We are always on hand with advice to help you make the most of our lovely county. Our maps and guide books are at your disposal. If you would like to join us for supper, we would be delighted, given a day's notice, to cook two delicious courses at a price of £15 per person, taking into consideration any dietary restrictions, allergies or simply dislikes you may have! We are not licensed to sell alcohol, so of course you are most welcome to bring your own! Or we can give you recommendations on local pubs and restaurants.
