The Hollies, Uppingham

"Sublime. Like coming home . . ."

Whether you're in Rutland for an event, on business or on holiday to discover this still little-known area of rural England, come and stay! We promise warm hospitality for up to 4 people in two lovely bedrooms - one king size, one double - a delicious supper if you decide to stay in and a great breakfast to wake up to! We're on an elegant stretch of Uppingham's historic High Street, a minute's walk from all its amenities and a short stroll from beautiful open countryside.

Your bed - and breakfast

Your bedroom will be on the second floor of our Victorian townhouse.

Our "Master" bedroom is large and airy with views over the rooftops to the countryside. It has a king size bed with top of the range mattress and a brand new en-suite shower room.

Also on this floor, our lovely "Garden View" bedroom has a king size bed and an en suite shower room.

We also provide:

In the morning, enjoy a cooked English breakfast, an American style option of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, or continental style pastries. This is in addition to fresh juices, home made granola, compotes and Greek yoghurt, with bread from Baines, our excellent local baker. Please let us know if you would prefer vegetarian or gluten free options. There are tea and coffee making facilities in your room (with fresh milk!) but you are most welcome to help yourself to those in our kitchen too.

We hope you'll feel at home enough to join us for a chat in the kitchen, or curl up by the fire with a book in our lovely sitting room. You are welcome to use our pretty courtyard garden - hopefully for sunny breakfasts! - or to enjoy a cup of tea.

We are always on hand with advice to help you make the most of our lovely county. Our maps and guide books are at your disposal. If you would like to join us for supper, we would be delighted, given a few day's notice, to cook two delicious courses at a price of £20 per person, taking into consideration any dietary restrictions, allergies or simply dislikes you may have. We are not licensed to sell alcohol, so of course you are most welcome to bring your own! Or we can give you recommendations on local pubs and restaurants.
